A peak flow meter is commonly used to determine deviations from normal lung function related to respiratory symptoms. Throughout the procedure, nursing staff and physician assistants must consider the patient’s age and genetics, past medical history, and any medication use. In this training, we’ll review the equipment and procedures for utilizing a peak flow meter to measure forced expiratory volume to determine lung function related to respiratory symptoms.
