Pediatric Aquatic Evidence Based Practice

What is the current evidence based research on a variety of pediatric diagnoses, including Cerebral palsy, Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome and the Medically Fragile and how do I apply this research to my clinical practice? This course will review the current evidence based research and explore how to implement this research into your current practice for more successful outcomes. Participants will gain knowledge of current evidence based research and be more successful with establishing treatment for children with diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome and the Medically Fragile.

Meet Your Instructor

  • Kiki Dickinson MPT, PAqI

    Kathleen (Kiki) Dickinson, MPT, PAqI has been a pediatric Physical Therapist since 1995. Kiki works for St. Croix Therapy in Hudson, WI and has over 20 years of experience developing and implementing Aquatic Therapy programs for a diverse pediatric population which includes working with children of all ages with a special focus on the birth to three population and medically complex children. Kiki serves as the Birth to Three Team Lead for her clinic and coordinates services with several counties in Wisconsin. Kiki is certified in Halliwick, Ai Chi and Bad Ragaz and Cranial Sacral. Kiki is a Pediatric Aquaticist and has helped develop several courses for ATU and speaks nationally and internationally. Kiki is an adjunct professor for St. Catherine's University and teaches pediatric coursework for their Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
