What is the current evidence-based research on a variety of pediatric diagnoses, including Cerebral Palsy, Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome, and the Medically Fragile, and how do I apply this research to my clinical practice? This course will review the current evidence-based research on the effects of aquatic physical therapy. Participants in this course will gain knowledge of current evidence-based studies and be more successful with establishing treatment for children with these diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome, and the Medically Fragile.

1. Pediatric Cerebral Palsy Population

Current evidence-based research will be reviewed on aquatic therapy with the pediatric Cerebral Palsy population. This research is important in determining if it supports aquatic therapy as a successful treatment approach for therapy. Treatment techniques will be demonstrated that support this research and/or diagnosis.

2. Pediatric Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy Population

Current evidence-based research will be reviewed on aquatic therapy with the pediatric Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy population. This research is important in determining if it supports aquatic therapy as a successful treatment approach for therapy. Treatment techniques will be demonstrated that support this research and/or diagnosis.

3. Pediatric Down Syndrome Population

Current evidence-based research will be reviewed on aquatic therapy with the pediatric Down Syndrome population.
